About image
I offer year-long courses to 6th year, 5th year and Transition year students studying honours maths. Classes take place on zoom and so students can join from anywhere in the country. Classes are exam-focused, with comprehensive notes accompanying each class. Most importantly, students will learn to think mathematically and independently so that by the time the exams come around they will be able to answer their own questions. My goal is to teach them to understand maths for themselves so that I can be taken out of the equation!

Classes will be dynamic and students will be encouraged to ask plenty of questions. I can't imagine a scenario in which I don't know what my students are thinking, and so, from the very first day of class they will be engaged in an interactive learning environment.

I want to instil confidence in my students in their mathematical ability. In order to nurture this I am contactable by the the students throughout the week and ready to answer questions by email or whatsapp at anytime. I offer extra sessions without any extra cost, when the need arises.

Students are more than welcome to try out a class in order to get to know me, and my teaching style, and see if it works for them. If they decide not to sign up there's no charge for the class.

Miriam Logan

PhD, MSc, MPhil - Yale University

MSc, BA - University College Dublin

Dr Miriam Logan is a highly experienced and talented educator. She currently lectures in the maths department at Trinity College Dublin. Prior to this she spent six years lecturing at Yale University where, as a PhD student, she was awarded the Yale Prize Teaching Fellowship twice.

Miriam’s forte lies in her ability to engage every student to think mathematically in an interactive and dynamic learning environment.

"Miriam is a force of nature. She is breathtakingly smart, not just with numbers and theory, but also emotionally and psychologically, which I believe is what makes her such an extraordinarily successful teacher. Miriam has an unusual gift for teaching. She can explain even the most difficult concepts clearly and concisely. She loves maths, and it shows!" - Professor Amy Chua, Yale University and author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother

"Miriam is one of the most effective and dedicated teachers I know. She has an amazing skill to meet students where they are and elevate them to where they need to be." - Sam Kimport, Lecturer, Stanford University

Previous students:
“Miriam is an inspiring and passionate teacher. Her sense of other peoples' understanding is uncanny and makes her a very successful teacher.”

“Miriam was always cheerful, and approached each new lesson with the attitude that it was easy and fun, and that we would all be able to understand it if only we looked at it the right way.”

"Miriam is an impeccable teacher. Not only can she explain difficult concepts thoroughly and with ease, but she is also extremely generous with her time. She is truly dedicated to making her students successful”

"Miriam really cared that we understood the material. She was excited to teach and dedicated to her students."
